What is happening? Is it changing?
Recently I have been going through Karan Bajaj’s bestseller “Keep off the Grass”. The book reflects various aspects of life and learning at best education institutes of India. The book clearly reflects that not only its a rat race out there rather than a quality education but also the immense pressure a student has to go through.
It also reminded me of a recent superhit 3 Idiots, the movie really drew large crowds at theater. When I was watching it the 3rd time, I found that most of the people around me were also watching it again. Well apart from the good humor I feel the movie got superhit because of the message it had. Everyone knows its reflecting a major problem with the current education system in India. The real question is what is happening? Is it changing even after most of us acknowledge the problem. Or has it just become a formula for writers or directors to produce a hit. The Central character of the movie clearly states ‘Success ke peeche matt bhaago, excellence ke peeche bhaago, Success khudd jhakk maar ke aapke peeche aayegi’ We heard the dialogue, liked it, even memorized it but how many of us really followed it?
A more important question is whether we would like our future generation to go through the same education system again. We all agree to that there should be changes in the education system, but how many of us are really working on fixing the problems or bringing up some improvement. I believe all of us have a part to play, we just can not leave it on SOMEONE to get up and change the whole world. A big change like this requires a massive effort.
I believe Schoolsearch.IN can be a step towards it. It provides an open platform for the people to gather and discuss about the various aspects of the school education system. Join, Collaborate and lets come up with SOLUTIONS rather than keeping on talking about PROBLEMS. Lets come up with a system that focuses on building up an enlightened human being rather than a burdened corporate nobody.

very well written divye,
really, lots of talks goes on and people talk about only problems. conferences are organized to discuss the very same point but time gets over in discussing problems only. SchoolSearch.IN would be a good step towards find the solution.
even i agree…people just keep on blaming the education system…n think that govt.will do sumthing for it.n they just sit n watch.solution should be found by each n everyone…n SchoolSearch.in will definitely be a good step towards this.discussion of parents together to find the best school for their children will bring some improvement in the current education system.schools will understand what improvement should be there in their educational policy.it will make everyone realise that there should not only be education..but quality education…
I am always argumentetive about the whole “E” word…education…People are made book smart from the “education” and they can also be street smart too…why does one has to study 21 years and do a work… Developed countries..high school education is consider as under grad school in india…One doesnot have to read and write for one quarter of his life… only thing a person has to learn is to becaome productive for the society create a value for himself and persue what he wanted in life.
